How a color appointment runs here

Every new color guest starts with a consultation in the salon before any color is mixed. We look at your hair in daylight, not under a phone screen, and we go through what you have had done before. Box color, a previous lightener, henna and hard water all change what is possible in one sitting, and none of that shows up in a photo you send us.

Once we agree on the goal, your stylist writes a formula for your hair rather than pulling a standard recipe. That is what custom color means in practice: the developer strength, the timing and the placement are all decided for the head in the chair. The consultation fee comes off your first color service, so the conversation costs you nothing if you go ahead.

Blonding, balayage and single process are not the same job

Balayage is painted freehand so the lightener sits softly against your base, which is why it grows out without a hard line. Foil highlighting gives more lift and more control, and it is the better choice when you want brightness through the whole head rather than around the face. A single process refresh covers your base in one application and is the shortest appointment of the three.

Most heads end up using more than one of these. A common pattern is a foil through the top, painted pieces underneath, and a gloss over everything at the basin to pull the tones together.

Grey blending is a choice, not a compromise

Full grey coverage means matching your base and taking the grey out completely, which commits you to a regrowth line every few weeks. Blending leaves some grey visible on purpose and softens the rest, so the line that grows in is much easier to live with. If you are tired of chasing a root every three weeks, blending is usually the conversation worth having.

Keeping the color once you leave

A gloss is what keeps color looking like it did on the day. It sits on top of the color rather than lifting anything, and it is a short appointment between full services. Washing less often, turning the water temperature down and using a shampoo made for colored hair will do more for your money than any single product claim.
