Maven Salon sits at 144 Main Street in Old Saybrook, at the mouth of the Connecticut River. That puts us within a short drive of most of the shoreline and the lower river valley. Here is what the trip looks like from each town we serve, and where to start if you are booking for the first time.
Towns with their own guide
These five towns send us enough regular guests that we have written a full page for each one, covering the services those guests book most and how to plan the trip.
Home. We are on Main Street in the middle of the village, a few minutes from the Route 1 and Route 154 junction, with parking on the street and in the lot behind the building.
Our closest neighbor to the west, a straight run down Route 1 with no highway involved. Westbrook guests are the ones most likely to add a wax onto a color appointment because the trip back is so short.
Just north of us on Route 154 or one exit up Route 9, close enough that Essex guests often book the late-morning slots and still have most of the day.
West along Route 1 or I-95, past Clinton. Madison is far enough that we suggest booking color and cut together rather than making two trips.
One town west on Route 1, or exit 63 to exit 66 on I-95. Clinton is also the gateway for anyone coming down Route 81 from the inland towns.
Also within an easy drive
We see guests from these towns too. They do not have a page of their own yet, and we would rather say that plainly than publish six pages that all say the same thing. Book any service below and tell us where you are coming from.
Inland and rural, with no salon strip of its own. Route 81 runs south from Killingworth to the Clinton shoreline, then it is Route 1 east to our door.
Straight down Route 9 south through the river valley, between Chester and Essex. One of the shortest inland runs to us.
The furthest west of the towns we serve, out past Madison on I-95. Guilford guests tend to book the longer appointments, so the drive earns itself.
A small river village north of Deep River, reached on Route 9 or the back way along Route 148.
On the east bank of the Connecticut River, so the trip crosses the Baldwin Bridge and comes back inland on Route 156. Worth saying: this is Lyme, not Old Lyme, and it is the longer of the two drives.
The furthest north we regularly see, up Route 9 or Route 154 along the river, taking in Higganum on the way.
