People sometimes think blowdry is the simple part of the appointment. The straightforward finish before you leave. I disagree. Blowdry is where your hair actually becomes your hair for the day.

The Signature Blowdry is something we do on every color, cut, and styling appointment at Maven Salon. It's also one of the most popular stand-alone services we offer. Here's what makes it different.

The approach

A Signature Blowdry isn't a wash, dry, and go. It's a finishing service. The goal is hair that's smooth, glossy, full of body, and styled the way you'll actually wear it.

Every Signature Blowdry includes:

  • A scalp-stimulating wash with products matched to your hair type
  • A nourishing conditioner that we time appropriately for your hair condition
  • A rough-dry to about 80% before styling
  • A round-brush or paddle-brush finish based on what you want
  • Optional curl or flat iron styling to finish the look
  • A finishing product that matches your hair type (oil, hairspray, texture spray)

The whole appointment is about 45 minutes. Long, thick, or extension hair runs closer to an hour.

  • Signature Blowdry + Curl/Flat Iron added on (extra 15 to 25 minutes)

When to book a stand-alone Signature Blowdry

  • Before an event. Weddings, photo shoots, weekend trips, important dates.
  • Friday or Saturday morning. Start your weekend feeling polished. Most of my guests book a weekly or bi-weekly Friday blow.
  • Between color appointments. Extends the life of your color and helps your hair stay healthy with regular professional finishing.
  • When you just don't want to do it yourself. A perfectly valid reason. Self-care is a service.

Curly or wavy hair

I love working with curly and wavy hair. A blowdry doesn't have to mean "smooth and straight." For wavy or curly hair, I can:

  • Diffuse for enhanced curl and volume
  • Blow smooth then curl with a wand for a finished, styled look
  • Do a hybrid (smooth at the roots, kept naturally textured at the ends)

Absolutely. A lot of my guests come in for a Signature Blowdry once a week or every other week between their color refresh appointments. It extends the life of their color and keeps them feeling polished without committing to a styling routine at home.
Do you blowdry curly or wavy hair to enhance the curl, or smooth it out?
Either. Tell me what you want at consultation and I'll style accordingly. I can diffuse for enhanced curl, blow smooth for sleek polish, or do a hybrid (smooth base with a curl at the ends).
